Lifetime Take Back

All of our puppies have a lifetime take back guarantee. We never want our puppies to end up in a bad situation (shelter or kennel situation). If a dog or puppy must need to be re-homed, the owner needs to contact the breeder first. We have many connections to help find the best family for the dog/puppy.

Prestige Health Guarantee
Health Evaluation and Vaccinations

All dogs bred and sold by Prestige Kennel are carefully evaluated to ensure accuracy and quality. Our puppies receive their first set of vaccinations against Parvovirus, Parainfluenza, Adenovirus, and Distemper. They are also wormed multiple times while in our care. Puppies are never allowed outside our home until they are ready to join their new families.

We go beyond basic care to ensure every puppy starts life with the best possible foundation. We are rigorous in screening and selecting our breeding dogs to promote optimal health and temperament. All of our sires and dams are DNA tested through Embark, a leading canine genetic testing platform, to rule out hereditary conditions and confirm breed integrity.

Every Prestige puppy comes with a 1-year congenital defect health guarantee. In the rare event that a serious congenital defect is diagnosed, the puppy may be returned to the breeder, and the buyer will receive a replacement puppy of the same breed and value when available. This policy reflects our commitment to ethical breeding and long-term support.

We also provide 30 days of complimentary health insurance with every puppy—at no cost to you. This coverage offers peace of mind during the transition to your home, helping with unexpected veterinary expenses and ensuring your new companion gets the care they deserve.

New Owner Responsibilities

It is the responsibility of the new owner to continue regular de-worming and parasite checks. Puppies should be wormed every two weeks until they are placed on monthly heartworm preventative. We recommend consulting your veterinarian for the best timing to start this prevention. Vaccinations should be administered no less than three weeks apart and no more than four weeks apart, continuing in a series of four until the puppy reaches 16 weeks of age. Rabies vaccinations cannot be given before 12 weeks old—please check local county or state regulations on rabies.

Medical Records and Vet Examination

Each puppy leaves with an accurate, up-to-date medical history. Buyers have three business days to have their puppy examined by a licensed veterinarian. If a life-threatening illness is found, the buyer may exchange the puppy for one of equal value. A veterinary certificate confirming the illness must be submitted within the 3-day period.

Why the Three-Day Window?

When puppies leave us, they are healthy to the best of our knowledge. However, puppies can quickly contract illnesses if exposed to unhealthy animals or environments after leaving our care. Therefore, it is the new owner’s responsibility to protect their puppy once at home. Failure to have the puppy checked by a vet within three days voids the health guarantee.

Health Guarantee Terms

If a veterinarian finds the puppy unhealthy within three days, it can be returned for a refund or exchanged for a puppy of equal value if one is available. This requires a vet’s letter specifying the health issue. No refunds will be issued after the 4th day of the warranty period.

We do not replace or refund for reasons unrelated to genetic health, such as allergies, mortality, landlord disapproval, family disagreements, or neglect-related illness (exposure to weather, injury, poisoning, etc.). There are no guarantees on temperament, lifespan, size, color, show quality, or breeding potential. The breeder is not responsible for veterinary or other expenses incurred after purchase.

Genetic Defect Replacement Policy

Should a licensed veterinarian diagnose a life-threatening birth or genetic defect, the breeder will replace the puppy within three years from the date of purchase. Replacement or refund for a deceased puppy requires a necropsy from an accredited institution (local vet necropsies are not accepted), with all costs borne by the owner. The necropsy report must accompany any replacement or refund request.

Exclusions and Other Conditions

We do not guarantee puppies vaccinated for leptospirosis unless discussed in advance with a veterinarian. Retained testicles, luxating patellas, bad bites, or hernias are excluded from the guarantee. Buyers must notify the breeder immediately upon discovering illness or defects; delays void the guarantee.

The breeder reserves the right to have the puppy examined by her veterinarian, at the buyer’s expense. The guarantee becomes null and void if there is any evidence of abuse, neglect, or failure to have yearly vet checkups (proof required on request).

No guarantees apply for training difficulties, ingestion of foreign objects requiring vet care or surgery, worms, parasites, or hypoglycemia. Hypoglycemia is not hereditary and is preventable with proper feeding and care. This health guarantee is non-transferable.
